The senior management team have asked you to develop an awareness raising campaign for non-ionising radiation, in response to a recent worker skin cancer diagnosis. This will include posters, fact-sheets for meetings, and a 1 hour briefing for supervisors, managers and health and safety representatives.
Prepare an outline of the following points to go towards the awareness campaign:
- Sources of non-ionising Radiation - both natural and produced by work activities
- The routes and effects of exposure, both acute and chronic
- The concept of exposure values and limits with examples ie, Specific Absorption Rate values and limits.
